HOW IT WORKS

A revolutionary hair treatment service that was originally developed in Brazil, HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment infuses and bonds Keratin, Wheat and Rice Proteins into and onto the cuticle layer of the hair shaft. Combined with amino acids, silicones and anti static agents, the results are quite simply remarkable; incredible shine, smoothness, enhanced strength and condition, frizz free and humidity proofed. The hair is straightened around 90% giving it a far more natural look than chemical straighteners and the hair is in better condition than when you started. Incredibly, the treatment works more effectively the more damaged the hair is. Unlike chemical straighteners HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment does not chemically rearrange the internal disulphide bond structure of the hair and it can be used on coloured, foiled and chemically straightened hair.

KERATIN TREATMENTS AND FORMALDEHYDE
 

Formaldehyde is not an ingredient in HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment although trace quantities can be the result of other ingredients in the formulation.

Due to the recent controversy surronding Keratin Treatment products and formaldehyde, Trichovedic have conducted both content and air sample testing of HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment to ensure that any trace levels of formaldehyde are substantially lower than those permitted.

AFTER CARE

Correct aftercare of HydroSpa Keratin Treatment is absolutely essential for the optimum quality, integrity and longevity of the treatment.

After Care shampoos, conditioners, treatments, serums and styling aids should be FREE of SULPHATES and SODIUM CHLORIDE (salt) as these chemicals will degrade and remove the Keratin bonded to the cuticle layer of the hair. The majority of salon shampoos contain sodium or amonium lauryl sulphate and many of them also contain sodium chloride.

There are shampoos and matching treatment conditioners for blonde, brunette and red hair, fine hair, scalp health and dandruff. Maintaining a HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment
 

A HydroSpa Keratin Smoothing Treatment is virtually maintenance free but some simple guidelines should be followed to ensure maximum longevity. Trichovedic Sulphate and Sodium Chloride free aftercare products should be used to avoid degrading and removing the proteins which have been bonded to the cuticle layer. Trichovedic prescriptive aftercare products are available for various hair and scalp types and different hair colours. Your client can shampoo and condition their hair as soon as they wish after their treatment and all they will need to do after shampooing is to quickly blowdry or iron for their hair to look as smooth and frizz free as when they left the salon. Swimming in salt or chlorinated water will degrade the treatment and reduce it's longevity. Prior to swimming a generous quantity of Trichovedic Glossing Serum should be distributed through the hair or a swimming cap used.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Cutting and Colouring
 

A haircut can be conducted immediately after the Treatment; colouring and foiling are best done immediately prior to the Treatment or at least two weeks afterwards.

Chemically Treated/Chemically Straightened Hair
 

The Treatment is even more effective and lasts longer on chemically treated hair. Virgin hair should be pre-treated with HydroSpa KST Deep Cleansing shampoo mixed with an equal quantity of 20 Vol peroxide.

Very Strong, Wavy, Virgin Hair
 

For clients with this type of hair who want a really straight result, consideration should be given to conducting a traditional chemical straightening service first immediately followed by a HydroSpa Keratin Treatment.

How long the Treatment will last?
 

Between three and five months. A repeat Treatment can be conducted after three months or as required.

Pregnancy, Nursing Mothers and Children

Although we are not aware of any reported adverse effects of trace amounts of formaldehyde on pregnant or nursing mothers, there is some evidence that formaldehyde can have some effect on the DNA. In light of this we believe it is prudent not to conduct the service on pregnant or nursing mothers or pre-pubescent children and the service should not be conducted by staff members who are pregnant.
